Types of nouns

There are two types of nouns - common nouns and proper nouns.

Common nouns are the names of things (places or objects).

Proper nouns are the names of a particular person, place or thing. They always begin with a capital letter.

Leroy is a monster and lives in a tree.

'Leroy' is a proper noun and 'monster' and 'tree' are common nouns.
