What is The Next Step?
The Next Step follows the adventures of the dancers of The Next Step dance studio. We focus on the A-Troupe, the highest-ranking troupe in the studio, and their journey towards becoming the best dance studio in the world. Dancing isn't only about tournaments and trophies though, as drama happens frequently among the many different dancers that come and go in the studio.

What are 'a troupe' and "A-Troupe"?
A 'troupe' is the name of a group of dancers. "A-Troupe" is, fittingly, the name of the highest-ranking troupe at The Next Step dance studio. This means that A-Troupe represents the studio at major dance competitions. It is one of many troupes that dance at The Next Step Dance Studio.
How many troupes dance at The Next Step dance studio and what do each represent?
There are three categories of troupes that dance at The Next Step dance studio. These are:
🅰️ A-Troupe - The highest ranking troupe
🅱️ B-Troupe - The second-highest ranking troupe
🇯 J-Troupe - Short for 'Junior Troupe' and include the youngest members
