CBeebies Apps Privacy Notice

It is important that you read this notice so that you are aware of how and why we are using such data. This privacy notice describes how we collect and use your data during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with data protection law. This Privacy Notice only applies to users that are asked to sign into or create a BBC account before using any CBeebies App.

In addition, we will process data relating to your use of the app and technical data about the performance of the app to improve your experience.
How will the BBC use my personal data?
We use the personal data above as well as your BBC account data to:
Provide you with access to the BBC CBeebies Apps
(Send push notifications if you have opted in to receiving these)
To recommend content and provide a personalised CBeebies App experience if you have personalisation turned on.
Measure audience behaviour, how you interact with the app and measure our reach to improve the CBeebies App services and the overall user experience making sure we’re making something for everyone.
Understand, diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix issues relating to the CBeebies Apps.
Who is the Data Controller?

Retaining your information
Your personal data on the CBeebies App is retained for as long as you have the app and a connected BBC account. You can delete your account at any time.
Your activity data collected whilst using the app will be kept and deleted in accordance with the BBC's Corporate Retention Schedule.
Your data will be stored within the UK, the EEA and the USA.

You have rights under data protection law:
• You can request a copy of the personal data BBC stores about you.
• You have the right to request that we rectify any inaccurate or incomplete personal data that we hold about you.
• You have the right to ask for the personal data we collect about you to be deleted, however there are limitations and exceptions to this right which may entitle the BBC to refuse your request.
• In certain circumstances, you have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data or to object to the processing of your personal data.
• You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal data to you or to another organisation, in certain circumstances.
