BBC Trust Chairman Rona Fairhead said: 

"The review deals with very troubling issues and we are grateful to all those affected who have had the courage to speak to Dame Janet Smith. Our thoughts are with them. 

"As the review has said today’s media reports result from a leaked copy of an early draft which cannot be relied upon, it would be premature to comment until we have seen the review. 

"We will provide every possible assistance to enable swift publication, and make sure the BBC takes all appropriate action to address the report’s conclusions."
