Why do we celebrate Black History Month?

This year’s theme for Black History Month is “Reclaiming Narratives”.

In the past, people didn't always give credit to black people for their contributions to art, writing, sports, business, politics and many other things.

This year, we are learning more about these important achievements and telling the stories that haven't always been told. It's time to celebrate the incredible things black people have done in the UK and all around the world!
