Blue badge | Blue Peter
The original and most famous Blue Peter badge is the iconic Blue one. Major celebs, your teacher and even your gran will recognise the legendary badge and most likely want to have one of their very own. We can’t be entirely sure how many have been awarded since launching in 1963, but we reckon the number is in the millions. Everyone who appears on the show gets a badge, but here’s a step-by-step guide for how YOU can get your hands on one!
Blue Peter Blue badge application
To apply for a Blue badge you must:
Be between 5 – 15 years old.
Apply for your Blue badge online using My Blue Peter, or write us a letter and apply by post. When applying by post make sure to follow the guidelines below.
Ask your parent or guardian to set up a BBC child account so you can use My Blue Peter. Please remember your username and password, as you’ll need these to log in and request your ID card, once your badge has been issued.
Please note: Each child applying for a badge via My Blue Peter need their own individual log in, for example a family with two children, will need two BBC child accounts for each child, so we can log their badges individually.
Ask your parent or guardian for permission and ask them to read the Privacy Notice.
Send us a creative contribution to earn your badge. This could be a poem, a story, some artwork, a model, a recipe, a suggestion for the show, or an interesting letter telling us about something you have done linked to your hobbies and interests.
Would you like to appear on Blue Peter? If so, make sure to tell us you are interested in being on the show.
Include: your full name, your date of birth, your home postal address and postcode (not your school address)
Post it to Blue Peter with the correct stamp on it (you'll need a 'large letter' stamp if sending an A4, or to pay for parcel postage if bigger than a letter)
Send your application letter and any other materials to the following address:

Thousands of children apply for badges each year and it can take up to 12 weeks for your badge to arrive, so please be patient! 💙
