How to get a Blue Peter badge

With so many different Blue Peter badges to collect, let us show you what is special about each one and most importantly how you could get your hands on one! Can you get a full set?

Let's start with the basics... A Blue Peter badge is a special award given to the amazing people who appear on the show. You can also earn a Blue Peter badge by applying online or by post, or by winning or being a runner-up in one of our big competitions. Applicants must be 5 to 15 years old.

There are several different badges you can apply for... the Blue badge, the Green badge, the Music badge, the Sport badge, the Book badge, and the Gold badge. You must win or be runner-up in a Blue Peter competition to get an Orange badge.

Please note that the application process for each badge is different so please take time and read about each badge before applying and only apply for one badge per application. Each badge has a set of questions to answer, so  tell us why you’re applying and send any photos, pictures or video to support your submission.

Apply for all your Blue Peter badges in one place... My Blue Peter! Once you’ve decided which badge you’d like, all you need to do is log into your own BBC account, get permission from your parent or guardian and fill in your details.

Blue badges are awarded for sending in interesting letters, stories, makes, pictures, poems and good ideas for the show.

Book badges are awarded to kids who love books and reading. To earn this badge, tell us more about a book you’ve read. Find out more about the Book badge here.

Green badges are awarded to kids who are passionate about nature and the environment. To earn this badge, tell us what you’ve done to help protect the planet. Find out more about the Green badge here.

Gold badges are very rare only awarded to individuals for extraordinary achievements. Applications are by letter only and you can nominate others for this badge. Find out more about the Gold badge and how to apply here.
